Course Overview This course, based on the foundational work of IDIFI Philippines, provides a holistic framework for understanding the unique challenges faced by rural and Indigenous communities in the Philippines. Participants will explore effective, culturally sensitive approaches to humanitarian support, moving beyond simple aid to sustainable development and community leadership. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Analyze the specific vulnerabilities and strengths of rural and Indigenous communities in the Philippines. Differentiate between temporary relief and transformative, community-driven development. Identify and apply IDIFI Philippines’ four core pillars of support: Community-Driven Projects, Capacity Building, Rights Advocacy, and Sustainable Livelihoods. Understand the critical role of health and education as foundational pillars for community growth. Develop actionable strategies for engaging in humanitarian efforts, from local support to national advocacy. Target Audience Community leaders, NGO staff, volunteers, students of social work and development studies, and anyone committed to equitable progress in the Philippines. Course Modules
